H-Soz-u-Kult

H -Soz -u-Kult ( Humanities - Social and cultural history) is a mailing list and an online information forum of the German History at the Humboldt University in Berlin. The moderated list is part of the H -Net and one of the most important online quotes for historians in the German -speaking world. Between 2002 and 2007, the project of the German Research Foundation (DFG ) within the framework of the cooperation project Clio -online has been promoted.

The name refers to the fields of social history and cultural history, now more historiographical areas are covered.

Self-presentation

H -Soz -u-Kult is a specialist forum, moderated information and communication platform for historians and published multiple scientific news and publications on the Internet. The operator of the platform have been founded with the motto ' by scientists - by scientists - scientists ' prescribed for the purposes of a Community Network and are also committed to the Open Access approach. Since 1996 the project with its central editorial office exists at the Department of History at the Humboldt University in Berlin. Since then, H -Soz -u-Kult has developed into a major supplier and agents of historical technical information in German-speaking countries.
