H. P. Lovecraft (Band)

H. P. Lovecraft was an American psychedelic rock band, named after the American author HP Lovecraft, which was founded in Chicago in 1967 and moved to San Francisco the following year. The group consisted of George Edwards (guitar, vocals ), Dave Michaels ( keyboards, vocals ), Jerry McGeorge (bass ), Michael Tegza (drums) and Tony Cavallari ( guitar).

The Sound of H. P. Lovecraft was typical of the acid rock of the late 1960s. Characteristic of the band was the singing duo Edwards and Michaels, the complex game of Michaels on organ and harpsichord, and Tegzas driving drums. An impression of their effect on performances album Live at the Fillmore: May 11, 1968.

As H. P. Lovecraft brought the band released two albums. In 1970, at Edwards and Tegza an offshoot called Lovecraft, who also produced two albums.
