Habib Beye

Habib Beye (born 19 October 1977 in Suresnes ) is a football player. He held the position of right-back.

Career

Beye was trained in the youth academy of Paris Saint- Germain, where he signed his first professional contract. After he played a single game for PSG, he moved in 1998 to Racing Strasbourg.

There he acquired a regular place and spent five years at the Alsatians. He then moved at the age of 26 years to Olympique Marseille. With this club he reached the final of the 2004 UEFA Cup twice and the final of the French Cup. For his good services he received several awards. In July 2006 he extended his contract and took over the captaincy of Fabien Barthez. In the 2007/2008 season he moved to Newcastle United. In 2009 he moved to Aston Villa. There he received a three -year contract.
