Habloville

Habloville audio? / I is a commune with 318 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Orne in Basse-Normandie region.

Geography

Habloville is located 30 kilometers northeast of the town of Flers. A few miles south is the Orne with the reservoir of Rabodanges. The nearest towns are Neuvy -au- Houlme in the north, Ri in the east, Giel- Courteilles in the south and Champcerie in the West. The municipality is crossed by the Baize, which rises in Habloville.

History and Culture

A dolmen from the Neolithic period as well as a grave mound and several tool discoveries are the oldest traces of human occupation dar. The present town probably dates back to Roman times. A first village church was built in the 11th century at the position of the Church today. In the year 1053, as there was one of the estates of the lords of Bellême, the church was consecrated. Because Habloville was to Mont -Saint -Michel on the Camino de Santiago and the pilgrimage path, the village in the Middle Ages was relatively prosperous. From the reconstruction of the church in the 13th century, some elements have been preserved. Habloville was little affected by the Hundred Years' War. In the 15th century originated with Saint- Jacques and Saint -Julien, two chapels. Near the village there were lime kilns that were used, among others, the forges in Putanges -Pont- Écrepin. In the 19th century they were shut down. Habloville was connected via a telegraph to Paris. The transfer took in an attempt to six minutes. 1973 a funding group for the local church was launched, a new organ was donated in 1992. The village church is named Notre- Dame de la Nativity ( Nativity of Mary ). In the church there are many cultural monuments, including a figure of the Virgin Mary with the child as well as a wood paneling from the 15th century.
