Habte Jifar

Habte Jifar ( born January 29, 1976 in Ambo ) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner.

A total of five times, he won with the Ethiopian team at the World Cross Country Championships medal. Bronze 1996 and 1997, silver in 1998, 1999 and 2002 His best individual finish was a ninth rank in 1999.

The Pan-African Games in 1995 he won silver in the 5000m and 10,000 m and 1999 bronze in the 10,000 m. At the World Athletics Championships, he became the 10,000 m in 1997 in Athens seventh, sixth in 1999 in Seville and 2001 in Edmonton ninth.

He then began a career as a marathon runner. In 2004 he was third at the Leipzig Marathon, 2005 Seventh at Hamburg Marathon and third in the Cologne Marathon and fifth at the 2006 Los Angeles Marathon.
