Hachette Book Group USA

The Hachette Book Group is a US-based publishing group. It is wholly owned by Hachette Livre, the largest publishing house in France, which in turn belongs to the group Groupe Lagardère. The Hachette Book Group was created when Hachette Livre in 2006 by the company Time Warner Time Warner Book Group took over.

History

The oldest publishing house, which today is part of the Hachette Book Group, Little, Brown and Company. It was founded in 1837 and bought by the media company Time Inc. 1968. This merged in 1989 with Warner Communications to Time Warner. Warner had in 1970, in turn, acquired the publishing Paperback Library and founded Warner Books. In 1996, the mentioned publishers were merged into Time Warner Trade Publishing and finally renamed to Time Warner Book Group. Following the acquisition by Hachette Livre in 2006 was re- renamed Hachette Book Group. Today (as of 2010) operates the publishing group numerous imprints and uses, among other things continue the Little, Brown and Company brand. However, the greatest imprint is the product obtained from Warner Books Grand Central Publishing, which divides its program by means of further imprints into smaller segments.

The headquarters of the Hachette Book Group is located in New York City. Other offices operates the publishing group in Boston (Massachusetts ) and Nashville ( Tennessee). The distribution center is located in Lebanon (Indiana).
