Hacienda

Hacienda is the German spelling for span hacienda, an estate in Latin America. The size of a hacienda varies regionally strong, but can cover an area of several thousand hectares. Between the workers and the owner, the hacendado, there is often an informal relationship of dependency.

Other sources, however, know to report that the term hacienda rather refers to the livestock on a ranch.
