Hadewijch

Hadewijch was a living and acting in Brabant mystic who their works ( poems, visions, letters ) probably wrote in the mid- 13th century, as a major writer applies in medium Dutch. A central concept in her work is the Love, seen as mystical love between God and man. She appeared on Jan van Ruusbroec.

Life

Very little is known about their lives. There is no biography, only source are their surviving works. It is believed that they board a Beguine community, or at least taught her writings to a circle of Beguines. From their works speaks a knowledge of Latin and of their songs familiarity with the art of minnesong.

The surviving work consists of 31 letters, a collection of poems with 16 authentic poems (from the 29 " mixed Poems " poems 17 to 29 are safe as spurious ), 45 strophic songs, 14 visions, and appended to the visions "List of perfection ".

Radio play machining

  • The medievalist Hildegard Elisabeth Keller integrated Hadewijch as one of five main female characters in the Trilogy of the Timeless which is the end of September was published in 2011. Selected passages from Hadewijchs letters and visions are discussed in the radio play The Ocean in the thimble. In the fictional encounter, Hadewijch entertains with Hildegard of Bingen (she is in Hadewijchs " list of the perfect " above), Mechthild of Magdeburg and Etty Hillesum.
