Ebeltoft (HAD ˠ ̞sɔ̟̝n ˀ ) is a Danish town of Mariagerfjord commune in the North Jutland.

Location

The town lies on both sides of the Mariagerfjordes on the east coast of the Jutland peninsula, where port ( Ebeltoft Havn ) and the settlement focus can be found on the north shore. Connected is the northern and the southern part of the city by 252 m long bascule bridge Hadsundbroen. On January 1, 2013 lived in the village of 4912 inhabitants.

History

Hadsund was officially founded in 1854 when the city received commercial space and privilege as the market right zugesprochen.Im 1883 opened to the rail link to Randers, 1900 also to Aalborg. Hadsund had two stations, North Ebeltoft Ebeltoft in the city and south. Hadsund North was demolished in 1985. Prior to the municipal reform on 1 January 2007 Ebeltoft administrative seat of the homonymous municipality Ebeltoft was in North Amt. The last mayor was Karl Christensen, a member of the Social Democrats ( Socialdemokraterne ).

Coat of arms

The coat of arms was awarded to the city in 1937. It shows the bridge, which was built in 1904. The four waves symbolize the villages that lie in the community: Skelund, Visborg, Vive and Ebeltoft. The crescent symbolizes the new church, and the star stands for longevity.

The dolmen of Ballegård ( also referred to as passage grave ) located north of the road from Assen to Hadsund behind the buildings of a farm, near the Mariagerfjord.
