Häfeli DH-5

The Häfeli DH -5 was a fighter aircraft in biplane design of the Swiss designer August Haefeli.

History

Development began in 1918 in the Swiss Federal Design Workshop, Department of Flight in Thun to create a reconnaissance and training aircraft for the Swiss Air Force. The first flight of the prototype took place in March 1919. In May of the following year, the trial began with the troops. After fixing a number of engine problems, the aircraft was released for series production.

The DH 5 was used in 80 copies 1922-1940 in the Swiss Air Force.
