Hafsia Herzi

Hafsia Herzi ( born January 25, 1987 in Manosque, Alpes -de -Haute- Provence) is a French actress.

Biography

Herzi was born in 1987 as the youngest of six children of an Algerian- Tunisian family. She grew up in modest circumstances in the north of Marseille. Her father died when she was two years old, her mother was a housewife. First acting experience gained Herzi at the age of twelve, when she stood as Komparsin in a TV movie of the public television station France 3 in front of the camera. However, acting classes she could not attend because her family did not have sufficient financial resources.

After graduation Herzi began studying law, before she was discovered at a casting in her home town of the French director Abdellatif Kechiche 2005. Kechiche, also of North African origin, prepared at this time in Marseille his third feature film Couscous ago after for his previous work L' Esquive, a social study over a group of adolescent youth in the suburbs of Paris, the praise of critics and the most important French film award, the César, had received.
