Hafthohlladung

The adhesive shaped charge was a German armored melee agent in World War II. There is a hollow charge explosive with three permanent magnets for mounting on a tank car. The three magnets reached a bonding capacity of 45 kg. After attaching the detonator was triggered, the explosive device was detonated after a few seconds. It was produced in two versions over 500,000 pieces. Later detention hollow charge was replaced by the Faustpatrone, Panzerfaust and Panzerschreck.

History

When the German infantry in the Soviet Union for the first time on the hit the heavily armored KV-1 and T -34 battle tanks, they had no way to combat them. The Army Ordnance Department worked hard on various means. Besides Panzerwurfmine mine and gauntlets mine the detention hollow charge was developed and first used in 1942 on the Volkhov front.
