Hagemeister Island

Hagemeister Iceland is an uninhabited island in Alaska. The island is located at the northern end of Bristol Bay at the entrance to Togiak Bay. Hagemeister is 26 km long and about 300 km ². The highest point is 184 meters above sea level.

It was named after German - Baltic sailors and governor of the Russian - American Company Ludwig August von Hagemeister (Russian Leonti Andrianowitsch Gage Master ). For the first time the name of Gavriil Andreevich Sarytschew was listed as Ostrov Gage champion in the charts.

The island is part of the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge.
