Hagfors

Hagfors is a locality ( Tätort ) in the Swedish province of Värmland County, the historical province of Värmland. The town is the capital of the municipality of Hagfors and lies on the River Klarälven.

Through the area to Hagfors leads the Rally Sweden. In the town itself there is the Service Park for the rally.

History

1850 lived in what is now Hagfors approximately 120 people (19 families). Hagfors 1876 was registered as a place name. From 1940-1950 Hagfors belonged to the parish Råda. On January 1, 1950 Hagfors was a separate town. In 1974, the city was along with other places of the newly created municipality of Hagfors Hagfors and was the main village.

Traffic

The nearest airport is the public Hagfors airport. The former railway line Nordmark - Klarälvens Järnvägar is shut down and dismantled.
