Geography

Geographical location

The municipality is located on the northwestern edge Hahausen of the resin and to the west of the district of Goslar. The nearest towns are in the South Seesen, in the west Rhüden and Lutter am Barenberg the north and Langelsheim in the east.

Community structure

To Hahausen include the district Neuekrug and the farming community Ödishausen.

History

The village was first mentioned in 1021.

On August 27, 1626 Battle of Lutter was fought on Barenberge between the army of the Catholic League under Tilly and the army of the Lower Saxon Circle, under the Danish King Christian between Hahausen and Lutter. The troops of Tilly were doing their positions in Hahausen, which was the day before was largely destroyed by the troops of Christians.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms is divided into four sections. The upper left corner shows a golden nichtheraldisch sechsspeichiges wheel on a blue ground, including a blue oak leaf, in the upper right corner nichtheraldisch there is a blue ear of barley on a golden background. Underneath a golden beer mug on a blue background.

Culture and sights

Hahausen is an embossed by agricultural farms and village has a lively club life. The village has with the resin, which is at the door, an extensive hiking and recreation area.

Traffic

Hahausen is up to the federal highways 82 and 248 west runs approximately five kilometers distance, the A 7 (AS Rhüden, 66).

In Hahausen the railway line Neuekrug - Hahausen - Goslar of the railway line Braunschweig- Kreiensen branches; the station but is currently not used.

Education

There used Hahausen in a school which is now used as the village hall. The reason students go nowadays mostly in the Kurt- Klay Primary School by Lutter and higher year progress ( Hauptschule, Realschule and Gymnasium ) visit the school center in Seesen.
