Geography

Geographical location

The community is located east-southeast of Aschaffenburg on the western edge of the Spessart between Aschaffenburg and the fairytale castle Mespelbrunn.

Geology

Haibach is located on a geological interface, so here occur three rock types in three quarries ( the extremely hard diorite in Dörrmorsbach, sandstone and gneiss at the mountain on Find Wendelsberg ). The highest elevations in the district area are the Find mountain and the mountain book. They are located about 330 meters above sea level. Haibach has a large proportion of forest, which consists largely of mixed forest.

Expansion of the municipal district

The municipality is divided into " village " development area and industrial area. The village is the largest part of Haibach and is located in the north. Name

Etymology

The name Haibach derives from the eponymous creek Haibach flowing to the Aschaff Goldbach.

History

Haibach was first mentioned in 1187. At that time, on the outskirts Ketzelburg called a noble residence, the remains of which have been explored archaeologically in the years 2004 and 2005.

The original form of the place Haibach was " Haginaha " = Grenzbach

Over the course of 500 years, the village name was finally updated on the place names Hegebach, Heybach and Haydebach since 1790.

According to the National Development Plan Bavaria Haibach is shown as a small center and one of the most progressive communities in the Vorspessartraumes and the Lower Main region.

From the original settlement and farming village located Haibach developed after the Second World War increasingly becoming a preferred residential community in the Aschaffenburg area. Through the establishment of small and medium-sized industrial and craft enterprises, the community was strengthened in its power and control power.

Due to its prominent position as a suburb of the city of Aschaffenburg, with its scenic surroundings Haibach belongs to the Natural Park Spessart. Incorporations

On 1 July 1972, the then independent municipality Green Morsbach, which today has a total of 8,500 inhabitants, incorporated. Dörrmorsbach joined them on 1 January 1978.
