Haidersee

The Muta is located on the Reschenpass directly at the village of St. Valentine on the heath. The lake in the village of Graun im Vinschgau is located at 1450 meters above sea level and has a surface of 89 hectares, a maximum depth of 15 meters and a volume of approximately six million cubic meters. On the shoreline there is a Nordic walking and hiking route. The main tributary of the lake Haider takes place over the Adige River, which from the Reschensee ( reservoir) is conducted, and the Zerzerbach from the Zerzertal.

On the Haidersee there is a motor boat driving ban, that is fuel- powered outboard engines are not allowed on the lake. Electric motors are allowed, however.

The Muta is a popular lake for ice yachts and snowkiting. The lake freezes usually too late November. Cycling and walking along the shore or on a 4.5 km long Nordic walking route is possible. At the lake there are opportunities for sailing and kite surfing.
