Hailu Mekonnen

Hailu Mekonnen ( born April 4, 1980 in the province of Arsi ) is an Ethiopian middle and long distance runners.

In 1998 he won bronze at the junior race of the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Marrakech and silver in the 5000m at the European Athletics Championships in Africa Dakar. The following year, he won at the World Cross Country Championships in Belfast the title in the junior race and the bronze medal in the short track.
