Haiming, Tyrol

Haiming is a municipality in the Upper Inn Valley in Tyrol, Austria, located between Telfs and Imst. the village is located in the district of Imst ( district court Silz ), has 4444 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) and extends 670 meters over an area of ​​40 km ².

Geography

The main village is situated on the edge of the Tschirgant landslide and is dominated by agriculture, while in the district Ötztal-Bahnhof has formed an extensive industrial and residential area ( at the entrance of the Ötztal ). The Haimingerberg is characterized mainly rural mountain. The district Ochs Garden has emerged as one of the two valley communities of the ski area Hochoetz, as well as by the proximity of neighboring east Kühtai also share in the winter tourism. Otherwise Haiming is determined by the summer tourism (rafting on the upper Inn).

History

An urn field from 1952 confirmed at " Forchet " that Haiming was inhabited around 800 BC. The first written mention of it was carried out in 1269 in a deed of Meinhard II, in which he bought from Count Henry of Eschenlohe five farms in the area of the court Petersberg. 1313 seemed Haiming first time as a community to the Court of St. Petersberg on the bridge over the Inn 1320. Until 1939, this road was active, but had to because of rockfall new concepts are designed to enable the road again.

In 1315 a Schwaighof was mentioned in a document in ox garden. This district is one of the oldest alpine permanent settlements in Tyrol. In the Middle Ages it was around a marble-like stone that was used in many churches. A story tells that Duke Frederick IV is said to have stopped in his flight from Constance a few days in a cabin in the woods below the fire Seetales.

From 1627 Haiming, Schlierenzau and ox garden form a separate municipality of the Court Petersberg. During construction of the Arlberg railway was moved in 1884 a bridge over the Ötztal Ache, 1893 followed by the construction of the railway station in Ötztal Bahnhof.

During the Second World War, the German aviation industry built a large wind tunnel in Haiming, which was dismantled after 1945. From him some material to repair the Brixlegg railway bridge was used. In 1951 we introduced the wind tunnel in Haute-Savoie on again.

1958 was called the Silzerberg finally Haimingerberg. 1972 they built a road from Haiming to ox garden. Previously, this place was only accessible via a footpath.
