Geography

Hainsfarth located just outside of the Nordlinger Ries in the planning region of Augsburg, about 1.5 km north-east of Oettingen in Bayern. Between the two towns flows the Wörnitz. The state road St 2216 through the town and connects it to the main road 466

History

Hainsfarth is mentioned in the gift lists of the monastery of Fulda. These refer to the period around the year 800 At the time of the Old Kingdom, the village was divided between the following principalities: Domkapitel Eichstätt, German Order, Margraviate of Brandenburg, Principality of Oettingen- Oettingen and Oettingen- Spielberg. While the Oettinger was part of the Swabian kingdom circle, were the other institutions of the Frankish empire circle. With the Act of Confederation, in 1806 the city became part of Bavaria. Hainsfarth lay in the so-called security district between Oettingen and the Prussian Principality of Ansbach. Hainsfarth housed in the 19th century, the largest Jewish community in Swabia. It was not until 1942, the last Jewish inhabitants were deported and murdered by Hainsfarth. Municipal flag and coat of arms

The previous church flag and the coat of arms had to be replaced with a new flag and coat of arms with the other colors. During the preparations for the 1200 - year celebration in 2005, it was found that the former mayor, the flags acquired in 1993, had neglected to approve the coat of arms and the flag. White-Blue is reserved as a flag in the Free State of Bavaria, the coat of arms heraldic color violated the rules. In 2011 it was decided that the new flag will have three stripes ( blue - white-blue ) coated with the new coat of arms ( in white-black - yellow).
