Hainzenberg

Hainz is a municipality with 687 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the Zillertal valley and belongs to the district of Schwaz in Tirol ( Austria ). The municipality is located in the judicial district of Zell am Ziller.

Geography

Hainzenberg located southeast of Zell am Ziller at the beginning of the Gerlos valley, on a slope. The Gerlosbach and the current flowing from the slopes of Torhelms Weißenbachl form the boundaries of the municipality, ranging in Ramsau im Zillertal until just before the north and east.

The municipality consists of the villages of valley road, Schweiberweg, Unterberg, mountain, this Dörfl, Inner Mountain, Gerlossstein, Lindenhöhe, Penzing, Eggeweg and Enterberg. Dörfl, about two kilometers southeast of the cell, together with the municipal office, the elementary school and the station of the Gerlossteinbahn the center of the community. Here the original townscape is largely been preserved.

History

Hainzenberg 1303 and 1309 first documented as " Haitzenperch ". The origin of the name is unclear. The tax register from 1779 leads Hainzenberg as the main team of nursing court cell, which developed into the present-day municipality in the 19th century.

Important for Hainzenberg was the situation on the shortest connection of cell by the Gerlostal with the Archbishopric of Salzburg, which included a large part of the Zillertal.

1506 Gold Mine is mentioned on the Hainzenberg first time. When at the beginning of the 17th century the mines abwurfen more and more income, a dispute erupted between Salzburg and Tyrol, who had already in 1427 agreed sharing of gold and silver ores in the Zillertal. This led in 1630 to nearly outbreak of war. Finally, agreement was reached on the joint exploitation of the gold deposit. 1803 was the mine as the entire Zillertal in the possession of the Tyrolean sovereigns over. 1870, the work was stopped because of the low yield, which still several companies tried in vain to make production profitable. Around 1930, the work was finally stopped.

In 1996 the old mine was taken over by the Tourism Zell am Ziller and expanded into a gold mine.

Economy

In addition to tourism (mainly in the winter season ) with the ski Gerlossteinwand and agriculture Hainzenberg is now mainly a commuter community.
