HÃ¥kan Svensson

Håkan Svensson ( born January 20, 1970 in Halmstad ) is a Swedish football player.

Career

Svensson played in youth at Rydöbruks IF. In 1990, the goalkeeper to Halmstad BK in the Allsvenskan. Until 2002, he was careful not there the gate and was able to celebrate two Liga titles and winning the Svenska Cupen.

Svensson was one of the best goalkeepers in the league and came on 29 January 1998 on his debut in the Swedish national team, as the choice to 0-0 draw by Jamaica separated. The next international game on 25 March he conceded four goals, as they defeated 0-4 in the debut of the new national team coach Tommy Söderberg Spain. He then lost his place between the posts to Magnus Hedman. In 2001 he was again playing into the goal of the national selection, but its use in the 0-0 draw on 31 January against the Faroese selection was his last game for the Swedish national team.

2003 Svensson left Halmstad BK and moved to AIK Solna. There he was indeed two years starting player, but he moved in 2005 to further Enosis Neon Paralimni Cyprus. After only half a year, he returned to Sweden and joined IF Elfsborg, where he replaced the injured Johan Wiland.

Originally, he wanted to end his career after the season, the league rivals BK Hacken, however, the two goalkeepers were injured and Svensson was obliged at short notice and came in two league games for use. In the summer, he moved to Malmö FF, where Mattias Asper had left the club, and was spare man behind Jonas Sandqvist.
