Hakarimata Range, in the foreground of the Waikato River

Hakarimata Range is a name given to the hills and coast trains of New Zealand's Waikato region that extend between the floodplain of the Waikato River and the Tasman Sea.

Parts of the area are protected by landscape protection areas in the towns of Huntly and Ngaruawahia and the Pirongia Forest Park. There are several hiking trails through the mountains, which offer a good view of the Waikato Plains below.

State Highway 36 approximately follows the east side of the mountain range. The city of Hamilton is located about 20 km east.
