Hal Erickson (author)

Hal Erickson ( born January 12, 1950 in Cincinnati, Ohio as Harold Erickson ) is an American author, journalist, film critic and media historian at the newspaper The New York Times. He is the author of several works on film, television and baseball in the United States.

Life and work

Harold Erickson was born in 1950 in Cincinnati, in the state of Ohio and graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee in the Department of Theatre 's degree in acting / directing. He also holds a master's degree in theater history at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

After several years of working as a lecturer, writer and actor, including in regional theaters and theaters for children, he began in 1984 with the writing of articles. Since that time, Erickson worked mainly as a media historian. From 1994 to 2009 he was a senior editor at the All Movie Guide website.

Erickson has more than one media - books written about the history of film and television for the U.S. publisher McFarland, as well as written numerous press articles for the Encyclopædia Britannica. He also works as a film critic and biographer at the New York Times.

Hal Erickson lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
