Hal Gausman

Hal Gordon Gausman (mostly Hal Gausman or Hal G. Gausman; born November 13, 1917 in Los Angeles, California, † June 1, 2003 in Ventura County, California ) was an American production designer and film set designer.

Life

Hal Gausman began his career in 1952 as Production Designer an episode of the American television series police report. Between 1957 and 1959 he worked on the series Zorro with Guy Williams in the title role for the first time for the Walt Disney Studios. From 1959 to 1974 he worked for Disneyland series. After his involvement in the based on the television series Zorro movie he received for his equip its next Disney film The Flying Pauker his first Oscar nomination. In 1964 he was nominated for Mary Poppins for a second time, a third nomination followed in 1971 for the daredevil flying witch in her bed. His last Oscar nomination for a Disney production he received for island at the end of the world 1974.

The mid-1970s Gausman worked for Universal Pictures and worked among other things on the war film MacArthur - hero of the Pacific with Gregory Peck in the lead role with.
