Hale (lunar crater)

Hale is an impact crater in the extreme southeast of the lunar front side, south of the crater Wexler and southeast of Neumayer. The rim is only slightly eroded with distinct terraces, the interior is mostly flat with a central peak.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1964 by the American astronomer George Ellery Hale and the British inventor William Hale.
