Half Nelson (film)

Half Nelson (English for Half Nelson, a lever neck wrestling ) is an American feature film from the year 2006. The film opened on 27 March 2008 in the German cinemas.

Action

Dan is a young history teacher in an environment of African American youth section of New York City. Their world is governed by crime and violence. The young teacher tries an unconventional way to give students an idea of their own history. While this does not meet the requirements of school management, but among young people it is well received. He is also the coach of the basketball school team. The student Drey is a passionate basketball player. After a game Drey discovers that her teacher Dan is a drug addict. The mystery leads the 13 - year-old student closer to their teachers. Drey discovers that her teacher has just not yet found its place in society as they are. The girl lives on her own. Her mother is a paramedic and almost never there for them. My brother Mike is imprisoned for drug dealing in prison. His friend Frank is their only support, but also Frank earned his money with the drug trade. When Dan recognizes the drug dealer in the environment Dreys, he tries to protect the girl before this contact. But this protector urge becomes a problem for those just getting underway friendship between teacher and student.
