Hamdan bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan

Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (Arabic حمدان بن زايد آل نهيان, DMG Hamdan Al Nahyan Zāyid b. ); * 1963) in the United Arab Emirates, a politician, a businessman and member of the family rule in Abu Dhabi. He is the representative of the Emir in the Western Region of Abu Dhabi.

Curriculum vitae

He is the fourth son of the founder of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. His elder brother Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan is the current Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. He is married to Sheikha bint Schamsa Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan.

As industry minister, he heads the state-owned companies Abu Dhabi MAR, which acquired a majority stake in the German company Blohm Voss, ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems in October 2009.

In 2002, he issued a prohibition for boys to act as a camel jockey.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan is not to be confused with Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum from the neighboring emirate of Dubai.
