Hamdi Salihi

Hamdi Salihi ( born January 19, 1984 in Shkodër ) is an Albanian football player.

Career

Salihi started his professional career in 2002 at the Albanian club KS Vllaznia Shkoder in which he played until 2004. 2004 joined the Albanian striker 2004 Greek club Panionios Athens, but returned already back after a year in his homeland. He played from the 2005/06 season when Albanian SK Tirana by storm and was in the same season scorer in the Albanian league with 29 goals. Tirana won the Albanian Cup club this season. In the winter of 2006/ 07 he joined the Austrian Bundesliga for SV Ried, who hoped with him on more goals. His first Bundesliga game for the Rieder denied Salihi on 24 February 2007 between SK Sturm Graz. He was replaced in the 68th minute for Emin Sulimani. His first Bundesliga succeeded the Albanians 3 March 2007 against SV Mattersburg. In this game, he scored a brace. Ried won 2-1. On 31 August 2009 he moved to league rivals Rapid Vienna, where he scored his first goal in his first game.

Although he was not always set under coach Peter Pacult, he scored approximately in the 2010/11 season 26 strong competitive goal for the Austrian record holder. Salihis contract with SK Rapid expired in June 2012, and so the Albanians moved in the summer of 2011, the interest of many clubs such as Maccabi Haifa on itself.

On February 2, 2012 Salihi moved to D.C. United in the North American Major League Soccer. After only one year in the U.S., he signed then the Chinese club Jiangsu Sainty. During the winter transfer period in 2014 joined the club loose Salihi to Israeli club Hapoel Acre.

In the Albanian national team, he came to 47 inserts and eleven gates ( October 2013 ).

Hamdi Salihi is considered attacker who participates little in the game, rarely even outdated and claiming balls from the midfield, but has great qualities in the penalty area.
