Playing career

He began his career at the age of 10 years with Trabzonspor, where he had his first appearance in 1985 as a professional player. He became a regular player and acted in central attacking position. His breakthrough celebrated in the season 1987/1988 with 17 goals in 37 games.

In 1998 Mandıralı for a sum of seven million DM for FC Schalke 04, but returned after a season back to Trabzonspor.
