Hamid Sourian

Hamid Soryan Reihanpour (Persian حمید سوریان ریحانپور; born August 24, 1985 in Tehran ) is an Iranian wrestler. He is a five-time world champion and Olympic champion in 2012 in Greco -Roman style bantamweight

Career

Hamid Soryan began in 1996 as a teenager in his hometown of Tehran with the rings. He concentrated on the Greco- Roman style. He is a member of Baba's Ringer association. At a size of 1.58 meters, he wrestles bantamweight and since 2010 at less important events in the featherweight.

He has been very successful as a junior. So in 2005 he was Asian junior champion in Jeju-si/Südkorea and in the same year in Vilnius also junior world champion bantamweight before so good wrestlers like Scherah Schodmanow from Uzbekistan, Rövşən Bayramov from Azerbaijan and Revaz Laschchi from Georgia. Finally, he was in the same year in Budapest also world champion in the seniors. He defeated on the way to this title Wugar Ragimow from Ukraine, Bayram Ozdemir from Turkey, Lázaro Rivas from Cuba, Ermek Kuketow from Kazakhstan and Park Eun- chul of South Korea.

In the 2006 World Cup in Guangzhou proved Hamid Soryan that winning the world title in 2005 was no fluke, as he won his second world title there. He defeated Vicente Garcia Lillo from Spain, Wugar Ragimow, Venelin Wenkow from Bulgaria, Lindsey Durlacher from the United States and Rövşən Bayramov. In 2007 he was in Bishkek for the first time Asian champions before Cha Kwang Su of North Korea and Lee Jang- baik from South Korea. He was this year in Baku also a world champion again. He defeated dabe following wrestlers: Shane Parker from Australia, Anders Nyblom from Denmark, Lindsey Durlacher, Virgil Munteanu from Romania, Kristijan Term of Serbia and Park Eun- chul.

After re winning the Asian Championship title in 2008 in Jeju -si Hamid Soryan drove than three times world champion of course as a big favorite for the Olympic Games in Beijing. In his first two fights he defeated there Venelin Wenkow and Elgin Elwais from Palau sure on points. But in his third fight he had a brief point defeat (1:2 rounds at 4:4 points ) against Nasir Mankijew from Russia to accept, so the dream of Olympic victory was over. He then won even against Kristijan Term, but lost in the battle for an Olympic bronze medal against Park Eun- chul, whom he had previously defeated several times, just on points (1:2 rounds, 3-3 points) and therefore had the to make do 5th Place.

At the 2009 World Championships in Herning / Denmark he proved then that he had this defeat processed good because he won in Herning with wins over Joaquim Martinez Abellan, Spain, Spenser Thomas Mango, United States, Erhan Karakus, Turkey, Håkan Nyblom, Denmark and Roman Amojan, Armenia, his fourth world title. This title he followed at the World Championships in Moscow with victories over Mohammad Bouterfassa, Algeria, Venelin Wenkow, Jani Haapamäki, Finland, Roman Amojan and Choi Gyu -jin, South Korea 's fifth world title. After this championship, he lost his form. This was already evident at the Asian Games 2010 in Guangzhou. He finished there as the reigning world champion only the 5th Place.
