Hamilton (crater)

Hamilton is an impact crater on the far southeastern edge of the lunar front side, on the western edge of Mare Australe, east of the crater Oken and west of Jenner (crater ). The rim is slightly eroded, the interior has concentric structures.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1964 after the Irish mathematician and physicist William Rowan Hamilton.
