Hamilton Watch Company

The Hamilton Watch Company was an American watch manufacturer.

The Hamilton Watch Company was founded in 1893 in Lancaster (Pennsylvania). It originated from the Adams & Perry Watch Company. 1927 Hamilton purchased the Illinois Watch Company. 1941, the company developed the Marine Chronometer Model 21 and Model 22 Precision Beobachtungsuhr This Hamilton became the most important American chronometer producers.

From 1955 to 1960 the company " United watch factories Ersingen " worked under the new ownership Helmut Epperlein with the Hamilton Watch Company together. 1966 Hamilton bought the Buren Watch Company. In 1970, the company produced the first electronic watch with digital LED display on the market - the model " Pulsar ".

1972 Watch production was discontinued. The Hamilton brand was acquired by the Swiss holding company SSIH.

The brand is now part of the Swatch Group.
