Hamm AG is a major manufacturer of rollers for different areas of use of roads and airport, dam and earthwork. The company, which can look back on a nearly 130 -year history, has its headquarters in Tirschenreuth and is the second largest manufacturer of road rollers worldwide. Hamm AG is a member of the Wirtgen Group and the oldest still producing rolling farmer in Germany.

Company History

The brothers Franz and Anton Hamm founded in 1878 in Tirschenreuth the " Maschinenfabrik Gebr Hamm ". In the following years we dealt with the construction of agricultural machines. The machines they established in their own fabrication. In 1911 Hamm with an innovative motor-driven road roller on the market that could replace the then usual steamrollers. Hamm AG never built steam-powered road rollers. From 1928, the company focused exclusively on the development, manufacture and sales of road rollers. In the following years other innovative products such as tandem rollers and pneumatic-tyred rollers and new compression techniques have been developed by which the oscillation is to be counted. After the Second World War, Hamm was internationally the leading roll manufacturer.

Between 1932 and 1970, Hamm had the patent on all-wheel drive and all-wheel drive tandem rollers and was the world's only manufacturer of these machines. 1973, the supply of spare parts of the former competitor Hatra was taken. 1992 Hamm expanded its program for new applications and takes into its product range a fully hydrostatic stabilizers and recyclers called " Raco " on. As part of the acquisition of the Wirtgen Group, this program was taken over by Wirtgen from 1999. 1999 then began working with the Wirtgen Group, Hamm was completely beside the company Wirtgen and Vögele, the third of four manufacturers in the meantime Wirtgen composite. 2002 Tirschenreuth a completely new plant was opened, since Hamm operates the most modern mill in Europe. Hamm 2003 celebrated the 125th anniversary with international guests and the ceremonial presentation of the latest techniques. In August 2006, the new loading center was inaugurated and the end of 2006, the existing assembly hall was extended by a fifth clock band. 2007, ground was broken for a new drum - work, which then started its operations in September 2008, only two in three layers. This was the back transfer of the production of rolling rolls of Poland to the domestic location.

The plant in Tirschenreuth covers an area of ​​195,000 m². In the production hall four assembly lines are accommodated with a length of 100 meters. In the hall, small machinery assembly further three bands for the Compact Line ( HD8 -14) are housed. Previous Investment: 60 million euros.
