Hammarland

Hammarland is a municipality in the autonomous Finnish province (Finnish: Lääni ) Åland. It is located in the center of Åland's main island Fasta Åland, adjacent to the communities Eckerö in the west, the east and Finström Jomala in the southeast. Hammarland has 1526 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) and covers an area of 140.14 square kilometers. As in Åland is Swedish is the official language. The main attraction of the village is the church of Hammarland, which was built in the first half of the 14th century.

The municipality includes the villages of Boda, Bovik, Bredbolsta, Byttböle, Djäkenböle, Drygsböle, Frebbenby, Hellesby, Kattby, Kråkböle, Lillbolsta, Mörby, Nävsby, Posta, Skarpnåtö, Strömma, Sålis, Torp, Västmyra and Äppelö.
