Hamme is a Belgian municipality located in the Flemish region with 24,436 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2012). It consists of the nucleus and the southern district of Moerzeke.

It lies on the Scheldt good six kilometers (km) north of Dendermonde, 8 km south of Sint -Niklaas, 23 km south-west of Antwerp, 30 km east of Ghent and 32 km north- west of Brussels.

The nearest motorway exit is located at Sint -Niklaas in the A14/E17.

In Dendermonde, Zele, Lokeren and Sint -Niklaas offers the nearest regional stations and in Antwerp, Ghent and Brussels keep on regional long-distance trains.

In Antwerp there is a regional airport near the capital Brussels is an international airport.
