Hammoor

Hammoor is a municipality in the district of Stormarn in Schleswig-Holstein

Geography

The community is located east of Bargteheide.

History

Hammoor was first mentioned in documents in 1263. The name is derived from the noble family of the von Homore who settled there in the 13th century. Later Hammoor came to Good Tremsbuttel with which it was sold in 1475 to the Duke of Saxe- Lauenburg. 1571 the village came under gottorpische administration and then became part of the sovereign office Tremsbuttel.

After the annexation of Schleswig-Holstein by Prussia in 1867 was assigned to the newly formed Hammoor Stormarn. With the introduction in the districts by the Prussian municipal constitution Hammoor belonged to the district of Bargteheide and since 1948 to the Official Bargteheide country.

1964 Gerke field from the community Tremsbuttel was umgemeindet after Hammoor.
