HaModia

HaModia (Hebrew המודיע, translates as " The Announcer ") is a Hebrew language daily newspaper, published in Israel. A seemingly daily English edition is published in the United States, the United Kingdom and Israel. The U.S. edition was the first Jewish ultra-orthodox newspaper ever published in English in the United States.

The editorial guidelines reflect the ultra-orthodox point of view. However, the editorial guidelines in the U.S. are more moderate than those in Israel. For example, the U.S. edition permission to reproduce images of rabbis and commercials with Internet addresses, while there is not this in the Israeli issue. A weekly edition, in English, is in London (mainly for the European market ) issued.

In some streams of ultra-Orthodox Judaism, the use of the Internet is allowed only for business purposes and it is reading secular newspapers avoided. For supporters of these groups as haModia newspapers are the only source of news.
