Hamra National Park

The Hamra National Park is located in the municipality of Ljusdal in Orsa Finnmark. With its size of only 28 hectares of which he is the smallest national park in Sweden. Now it is 1383 hectares and is surrounded by a cultivated area and forms a small unspoilt oasis. The park is situated on two flat moraine hills to the small lake Näckrostjärnen. It leads a tour through the park, which is placed in the sumpfigeren sections on wooden planks.

Flora and Fauna

For almost the entire area of the park attracts original coniferous forest. The oldest spruce trees of the stock are up to 300 years old and is partially covered by a dense lichen growth. In the park over 450 different insects and beetle species were found.

Access

From the National Road 81 between Orsa and Sveg leads from Fågelsjö a side road towards the park. At the entrance of the park is a parking lot with a small shelter and information boards. Of the stops Fågelsjö and Tandsjöborg the Inland Railway, the park is approximately 10 kilometers away.
