Handeloh

Handeloh until March 16, 1936 at Handorf Tostedt, is a municipality in the district of Harburg, in Lower Saxony.

Geography

Location

Handeloh lies between the rivers Seeve and Este, south of Buchholz in the North Heath. The Harburg Hills lie in the northwest and the nature reserve Lueneburg Heath in the south-east. The community belongs to the Samtgemeinde Tostedt, which has its headquarters in the town of Tostedt.

History

Incorporations

On 1 July 1972, the neighboring community Inzmühlen was incorporated.

Coat of arms

Blazon: In the split and right split sign up in green goldenens a wagon wheel with eight spokes, bottom in silver, two blue wave beams, left in gold, a black pine tree with four roots.

Meaning: The wagon wheel symbolizes the earlier major timber handling in the community. The two wave bars indicate the rivers Este and Seeve that flow through the district. Wood and forest wealth is represented by the pine, whose four roots symbolize the four villages in the community association.

Economy and infrastructure

Traffic

There are two stations on the Heidebahn, " Handeloh " and " Büsenbachtal " served. The latter however is the district Wörme and the hiking area " Büsenbachtal ". In addition, the Handeloh station on the Heidebahn the last in HVV tariff. Season tickets are valid, however, since 2008, to Soltau.

From 1999 to 2002, the tourist field railway system "Wild Heather " was operated in Büsenbachtal.

Media

A riding in Handeloh was with many other outdoor scenes the main location for the 52- part television series from New Süderhof.
