Hang Chat District

Amphoe Hang Chat ( Thai ห้างฉัตร ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the western part of the province of Lampang. The Lampang Province is located in the northern region of Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts are ( from northeast clockwise): Amphoe Mueang Lampang which, Ko Kha and OEM Ngam the province of Lampang, and Mae Tha of Lamphun Province.

History

Originally the county slope Sat ( หาง สัตว์ ) was called. In 1940 it was renamed in Hang Chat.

Attractions

• Elephant School ( Thai: ศูนย์ อนุรักษ์ ช้าง ไทย ) - just outside the provincial capital of Lampang, Thailand's only real elephants school (or even worldwide), which does not serve the purposes of tourism. About 100 adult animals and a number of young animals are prepared for work in the woods: Marching, log - hauling, assistance for the mahouts ( elephant driver ), noise habituation.

Education

In Amphoe Hang Chat Lampang is the off campus of Thammasat University.

Management

The circle is divided into seven subdistricts (tambon ), which are divided further into 73 villages ( Muban ).

Hang Chat is also the name of a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district. It consists of parts of the tambon same name.

In addition, there are seven " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
