Hangenbieten

Hangenbieten is a commune with 1458 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Bas- Rhin in the Alsace region. She is a member of the Association of Municipalities Communauté de communes les Châteaux.

Geography

In the township the department of roads begin D93 and D221. Near Hangenbieten are piston Home, Breuschwickersheim, Achenheim and Holtz home. It lies at the Breuschkanal and 2 km north of the Aéroport International de Strasbourg.

History

1256 Hangenbieten is mentioned as Hangendebuthenheim for the first time in a document. 1262 the village was burnt down by the High - Geroldseck because of a conflict between the citizens of Strasbourg and its bishop Walter.
