Shelton Hank Williams III ( born December 12, 1972 in Nashville, Tennessee) is an American rock singer. He is the grandson of Hank Williams and the son of Hank Williams Jr..

In his early years he played drums in several punk bands; In 1996 he received a recording contract with Curb Records. A short time later, the album Three Hanks: Men With Broken Hearts released, on which the voices of three generations of Williams were united.

Williams never mainstream country preferred, although the similarity with his grandfather would have secured him a career in this profession. But he was bored with the predictable Nashville sound, and the local approach. His opinion on this topic can be found in the song " Trashville ".

His first solo album, Risin ' Outlaw was released in September 1999. Lovesick, Broke & Driftin ' followed in 2002. He had big problems with Curb Records, as they refused to release the album This Is not Country and also it prevented him due to her contract to offer it elsewhere. Williams went on to T- shirts with the words " F *** Curb " to sell.

Williams plays alternative country and operates besides still strongly leaning against the Death Metal band Assjack. He is also the bassist of the band Superjoint Ritual of the former Pantera frontman Phil Anselmo.

In October 2008, Williams released his album Damn Right, Rebel Proud on Sidewalk Records.
