Hank Worden

Hank Worden ( born July 23, 1901 in Rolfe, Iowa, † December 6, 1992 in Los Angeles, California), is actually Norton Earl Worden, was an American rodeo rider and actor. He was close friends with the director Howard Hawks and belonged to the inner circle of the John Ford Stock Company, so that was a friend and confidant of John Ford and John Wayne.

Life

Hank Worden grew up on a cattle ranch in Montana. He was trained as an engineer at Stanford and the University of Nevada. Since 1940, he was married to wife Louise, who died in 1977. Her daughter Dawn Henry had adopted her as an adult.

Professionally Hank Worden worked first as a rodeo rider. Together with his friend and colleague Tex Ritter, with whom he had appeared in New York's Madison Square Garden, he came in 1930 to show business when he acted in the Broadway show Green Grow the Lilacs as cattle caregivers in the background. Even in Hollywood, he initially met similar functions and played next in small supporting roles, such as in the Western The hero of the plains of Cecil B. DeMille, who was his debut film, however, was not published until later than some smaller successor productions in which he participated. Since then, Worden was regularly before the camera, mostly in Western productions. He mostly acted like cowboys, trappers occasionally, sometimes Indian, sometimes the type of quirky owl. Since the 1950s, Hank Worden was seen in well-known and popular TV series, preferably in Western series. He played in The Lone Ranger, Daniel Boone and Bonanza. Until shortly before his death in front of the camera standing, he looked more than ninety -year-old in the series Twin Peaks with. In film cast lists is referred to as Worden Hank Worden Norton, Heber Snow, Hank Warden or Norton E. ' Hank ' Worden.
