Hanka Kupfernagel
Kupfernagel ( born March 19, 1974 in Gera ) is a German racing driver.
Profile
Hanka copper nail grew in Neustadt an der Orla, and began operating in the local sports community cycling before moving to DDR - performance center SG bismuth Gera.
In their specialist discipline, the cross-country race, she is currently dominant in Germany and is one of the best in the world. Since the introduction of the cyclo-cross world championships of women in 2000, she took a podium finish every time, in the years 2000, 2001, 2005 and 2008, she won gold.
In addition, it also runs successful in road races. She was from 1997 to 1999 first in the world rankings and won the time trial at the 2007 Road Cycling World Championship in Stuttgart.
On the train, she was the 1991 and 1992 Junior World Champion, but focused in the following years only on the road. Only in 2004, she came back on the train and qualify right away with three third places at the World Cup in Manchester and Moscow for the World Championships, where she narrowly missed the Olympic qualification.
In 2000, separated Kupfernagel by her husband, Torsten Wittig, who was her coach and manager at the same time. Subsequently, she was romantically involved until the fall of 2009 with former cyclist Mike Kluge, who was also active as their coach and manager.
