Hankook Tire

Hankook Tire Co. is a South Korean manufacturer mainly of tires for cars and trucks The company was founded in 1941 as the Chosun Tire Industrial co.

It uses the company names for its regional offices, the terms Hankook Tire, Hankook Tyre in England and in Germany Hankook tires.

Since 2003, a strategic alliance between Hankook and Michelin. In this framework, produces and sells Hankook tires under the brand Michelin.

Hankook is an original equipment tire for BMW (Mini Cooper), since 2003, partly at the Volkswagen Group ( Golf, Bora, Audi A3, Seat Ibiza and others), as well as other brands and manufacturers such as Ford ( Mondeo ), Mercedes -Benz, General Motors, Volvo, Daihatsu, Mitsubishi, Hyundai and Kia.

Hankook is since 2007 the seventh largest tire manufacturer in the world and leads a partnership with the Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund.

Volkswagen Caddy, Caddy Maxi, Polo, Golf VI and Tiguan and Transporter, Caravelle, Multivan and California were equipped with Hankook tires from the Hungarian plant in Rácalmás at Dunaújváros since 2009.

After getting the tire manufacturer Dunlop from the DTM in late 2010, Hankook is the sole tire supplier from 2011 of the racing series.

On 2 September 2013, the Daimler -Benz AG announced for the car models S-Class and E-Class in addition to populate with Hankook tires. Hankook is also a sponsor of the BMW 1 Series and MINI as well as with the type Ventus S1 evo ² also original equipment since 2012 in the BMW 3 Series models.
