Hanley, Staffordshire
Hanley is the most populous of the six towns that make up the English city of Stoke -on-Trent. It is the heart of Stoke-on -Trent, where many pubs, cafes, clubs, museums, theaters and shops (especially the largest shopping center in Stoke, the so-called " Potteries Shopping Centre " ) are located. " Going up Hanley ," therefore, means something like " go out ".
History
The first time Hanley was mentioned as " Hanlih " in 1227. Hanley was in 1857 incorporated into the city. For the first Mayor John Ridgway was; comes from him and the dromedary, which is still visible in the city arms today.
