Hanna Pakarinen
Hanna Pakarinen Helena ( born April 17, 1981 in Lappeenranta ) is a Finnish pop singer, who won in 2004, the first season of the Finnish version of the talent show Pop Idol. She gained international fame as the representative of Finland to the Euro Vision Song Contest 2007 in Helsinki.
Career
Hanna Pakarinen grew up in eastern Finland, near the Russian border in the town of Lappeenranta. She currently lives in Helsinki. Prior to their participation in the talent show Idols, she worked as a forklift driver in a paper mill. During this time she gained her first musical experiences in various local rock bands. Together with the group " Rained ", it published as a singer some albums and singles.
In 2003 she qualified for participation in the first season of Idols. By his own admission, she decided to participate when she saw advertising for the show and thought that there is nothing more in her life and it is their chance to break through, as the professional jury could judge whether they can sing or not. On 9 January 2004 she performed at the finale of the show against Jani Wickholm and presented the songs The Best of Tina Turner and Eternal Flame by the Bangles. She received a total of 431,000 of 713,000 votes (60 %). They thus won € 30,000 and a recording contract with Sony BMG. Then she put the show for the winner specially composed song Tulin before voittamaan.
Their first single Love Is Like a song is voittamaan an English version of Tulin and debuted at # 1 in the Finnish charts. On 9 June 2004, their debut album When I Become Me, the space occupied 2 on the charts for several weeks and was awarded gold and platinum appeared. The follow-up album Stronger released on 7 September 2005 and reached # 2 on the next album charts and gold status. The resulting decoupled single Kiss Of Life also went into the charts. Her current album Lovers appeared on 14 February 2007. It reached number 3 on the Finnish charts.
On February 17, 2007, she was elected to the Finnish Trials Representative of Finland to the Euro Vision Song Contest 2007 in Helsinki. On May 12, she presented there the song Leave me alone, with whom she came in 17th place.
