Hanna Schygulla
Hanna Schygulla ( born December 25, 1943 in Chorzów ) is a German actress and singer.
Life
The daughter of timber merchant Joseph Schygulla and his wife Antonie, born Mzyk, came in 1945 with her mother, who had to flee from Silesia to Munich; the father returned in 1948 from captivity back. After graduating from the Luis Gymnasium in Munich and a year as an au pair girl in Paris, she studied from 1964 German and Romance Languages and simultaneously took acting lessons in Munich on Fridl - Leonhard Studio.
Rainer Werner Fassbinder, who she knew from the drama school here, they took in September, 1967, to be action- theater. She played there and especially in the following antiteater in numerous productions. After a few minor film roles was in April 1969 by Fassbinder in his film work love is used colder than death. From then on until 1972 with Schygulla played in all but one of Fassbinder's films and many of his plays.
From 1974, ended after a conflict initially close collaboration with Cooper, and starred in numerous films by other directors. She also went on theater tours and took roles in classic plays like Rose Bernd.
In 1978 came again to cooperate with Cooper in the film The Marriage of Maria Braun. From then on she was regarded as a world-class actress and got international offers. She has appeared in French, Italian and American films. From the 1990s, she was also known as a chanson singer and celebrated. Among other things, she toured with a Brecht - night, in which she sang in Spanish and recited by Europe.
In 2002, she appeared in VB51 project with the artist Vanessa Beecroft. In recent years Schygulla worked primarily with film directors of the younger generation, with about Till Franzen in The Blue Border (2005 ), Hans Steinbichler in Winterreise (2006 ) and Fatih Akin in on the other side ( 2007). For the latter film, she was nominated as Best Supporting Actress for the German Film Award in 2008 and won in the same category as the first German actress the National Society of Film Critics Award.
In the fall of 2013 Schygulla published their autobiography Awake and Dream in Schirmer / Mosel. In February 2014 she presented her room installation Traumprotokolle ago at the Berlin Academy of Arts, staged by Schygulla since 1978 and produced in- video short films presented and had previously been shown already in Paris and New York.
Schygulla has been living in Paris in 1981 and has since 2011 a " second home " ( Schygulla ) in a shared apartment in Berlin- Charlottenburg with two 30 -years-younger roommates.
