Hannes Bauer

Johannes " Hannes " Bauer ( born July 22, 1954 in Halle ( Saale) ) applies in addition to his brother Conny Bauer as one of the outstanding European trombonist and composer of improvised music and free jazz.

After dropping trombone studies ( with Hartmut Behrsing ) he graduated in the GDR vocational training for dance and entertainment musician. Since 1972, he had played in groups led by the baritone saxophonist / clarinetist Manfred Schulze, whose quintet he later belonged (and it headed to the health-related exit Schulze ). Since 1978, he belonged to a quintet by Andy Altenfelder, which spawned the beginning of the 1980 years existing trio with Heiner Reinhardt and Christoph Winckel. Since 1979 is dedicated to Johannes Bauer freelancing exclusively to jazz and improvised music. He lives in Berlin.
